By name, many people may think that it is a type wheat but actually, it is not. Even it is not a grain. It is a fruit that every obese person should know about. It lowers risk of developing high blood pressure. A high fiber food fills your stomach up and reduce appetite. It is mainly beneficial for those who are vegetarian. Because it contains plenty of protein. On the other side, it lowers blood glucose so diabetes level remain in check.

 

It is found in supermarkets as grooats, grits and flour. You can also find cream of buckwheat and buckwheat flour as well. It is two types such as darker or light buckwheat. Darker buckwheat contains more fiber and nutrients.

It is a high calorie food. 100 g of raw buckwheat contains 343 calories. But the interesting matter is among this 100 g there is almost 10 g water, 13.3 g protein, carb 71.5 g, 3.4 g fat

 

Ingredients

 

  • Two eggs
  • ¾ cup skimmed milk
  • Two tbsp. plain yoghurt
  • ½ cup buckwheat flour
  • ½  cup rice flour
  • One tbsp. baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • Unsalted butter
  • Marmalade or honey

 

Process

 

Mix egg yolk, milk, and yoghurt. In another bowl, dodge buckwheat, rice flour and cornmeal, baking powder, sugar and salt. Now pour milk mixture and stir it and then add oil. Stir egg white and fold into batter. Take butter into pan to melt and pour in a ladle of batter. Cook in low flame till it become lightly golden. Flip over and cook for another minute. Then serve with marmalade.
